Owens Foundation for Wildlife Conservation, Inc.
Stone Mountain, GA
|
Established in 1986, the Owens Foundation supports American zoologists, Dr. Delia and Mark Owens to conserve endangered species and assist people that live near them. The Owens conducted landmark wildlife research and conservation work in Africa for 23 years and have assisted grizzly bear conservation in northwest US since 1997 while continuing programs in Africa. The Foundation depends on donations of time and talent to enhance monetary donations. Overhead is low so the maximum can be applied to fieldwork. We assist development projects in Zambia(beekeeping, fish farming, sunflower oil pressing, school construction, training medics for remote villages)and eco-tourism development to return income to local people so that wildlife has more value alive than dead. We also work for habitat acquisition and protection in North Idaho to expand protected habitat for grizzly bears and all other wildlife.
